Who I am

This site (erickcabal.com) is owned and operated by Erick Jhon L. Cabal, an individual sole proprietor based in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines. For privacy questions you can reach me at erickjhoncabal@gmail.com.

I am the data controller for any personal data you share with me through this site, as defined under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).

What I collect, and why

I only collect the data you actively give me, in three places:

• Contact form at /contact. your name, email, and message. I use these to reply to you. That's it.
• Project intake at /start. your name, email, phone (optional), business name, industry, registration status, address, year started, and any project notes. I use these to prepare a quote and proposal for you.
• Browser storage(localStorage), your intake answers are saved on your laptop, not on my server, so you don't lose progress on refresh. You can clear this any time in your browser settings.

I don't use tracking cookies, analytics that identify you, or retargeting pixels. The site uses Vercel for hosting, which logs basic request metadata (IP, user agent, timestamp) for up to 30 days for security and performance, in line with Vercel's privacy policy.

How I store and protect your data

When you submit a form, your message is delivered to my inbox through Resend, a transactional email service. The email content lands in my Gmail inbox, where it stays until I delete it. Resend retains delivery metadata briefly for spam and abuse prevention.

The site itself is served by Vercel on edge servers worldwide. There is no public database; your form submissions are not stored in any database I control.

I take reasonable technical safeguards (HTTPS-only, no public database, scoped API tokens) and organizational safeguards (single-operator access, secure password practices) to protect your data.

What I share with third parties

I don't sell your data. Period. The processors I use:

• Vercel, hosts the website and processes incoming requests. Privacy policy.
• Resend, delivers form submissions to my inbox. Privacy policy.
• Google (Gmail), receives my email. If you email me, your message is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Each is bound by their own privacy commitments and applicable laws (GDPR, CCPA, RA 10173 where relevant).

Your rights under RA 10173

As a Philippine resident, you have the right to:

• Be informed about what data I collect and why (this page).
• Access the data I hold about you, just email me.
• Object to certain processing.
• Erase or blockyour data, email me and I'll delete what I have within 30 days.
• Damages in the case of a violation of your rights.
• Data portability, get a copy of what I hold in a readable format.
• File a complaint with the National Privacy Commission if you believe your rights were violated.

How long I keep your data

Form submissions stay in my email inbox until I delete them, by default no longer than 12 months after our last meaningful contact. If we work together, I keep project-related correspondence for the length of our engagement plus 5 years for tax and audit reasons, per Philippine BIR record-keeping requirements.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 18. I don't knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information, please email me and I'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

I'll update this page when anything material changes, and I'll bump the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
